The Medical Service of Zakynthos Hospital is divided into sections, which operate in specialty Departments, Units, Medical Specialties – Special Units and other Departments, as follows: Sectors Responsibilities The responsibilities of the Medical Service of the Hospital are defined as follows:
a) Pathology Sector, with capacity of 86 beds
b) Surgical Sector with capacity of 63 beds
c) Laboratory sector
a. The promotion of healthcare.
b. The training of the personnel staffing the Service.
c. The provision of health services.
d. The planning and control of provided health services.
e. Compilation of protocols for the provision and development of medical services from management, sectors and departments.
f. The organization and promotion of research.
g. Cooperation with other hospital services for the continuous improvement of health services provided.
h. The supervision of calls and the effective operation of hospital beds and the scientific monitoring of the operation of the Outpatient Clinics, the Department of Emergency and surgeries.
i. Cooperation with other hospital services for the continuous improvement of health services.
j. Supervision of Hospital Library.
k. Information and keeping patients hospital records.
l. Planning and recommendation to grant any form of leave to the staff of Medical Service.
